The Trixie Angled Protective Car Boot Bars will help to keep your dog safe when travelling (and it’s also very if you are transporting other objects in the back of your car). The angled posts mean that you can utilise the entire boot area. The guard is fully adjustable in height and width. It is made from painted metal and very easy to install. There are clamps and extendable screws which wedge two posts firmly between the floor of the car and the roof. Then all you have to do is extend the horizontal bars until they reach the car windows. It’s that simple! Good to know

  • Never leave a dog in a parked car on a warm day, even with the windows down.
  • Flying with your dog? Check the airline’s crate requirements before buying, as they set the rules.
  • Your dog should be able to stand without ducking, turn round easily and lie flat on its side in the crate.

Common questions

Which type of crate is best for the car?

Purpose-built aluminium car crates are the sturdiest and are shaped to fit the boot. Plastic transport crates and wire crates also work if they fit well and are secured so they cannot slide. Fabric crates are fine for calm dogs at your destination but offer little protection while driving.

What size crate does my dog need?

Your dog should be able to stand without its head touching the roof, turn around and lie flat on its side. Measure height to the top of the head or ears and length from nose to base of tail, add a few centimetres, and compare with the crate’s inside dimensions.
