Many types of cat litter are based on clay minerals, which have to be extracted. The environmentally friendly Porta SoftCat with Grass Litter, on the other hand, is based on plant fibres! It is completely natural and biodegradable - so you can even dispose of it in organic waste or even garden compost. The litter is completely safe for your cat, does not create dust and has a very high odour binding capacity, so it stays fresh in and around the litter box for a long time! Porta SoftCat with Grass also absorbs a lot of liquid and clumps very firmly - this helps you to clean the litter tray quickly. The litter is also gentle on sensitive cat paws, making toilet visits pleasant and comfortable for your feline. It’s light weight which make it easy to carry and transport. Good to know
- Choose unscented litter if your cat is hesitant: strong perfumes can put cats off the tray.
- Never flush cat litter, even ‘flushable’ types; bag it and bin it instead.
- Wear gloves or wash your hands after cleaning the tray, and avoid the job during pregnancy if someone else can do it.
Common questions
How often should I change all the litter?
Scoop daily and top up. Non-clumping litter usually needs a full change at least weekly, while clumping litter can go longer because only the soiled clumps are removed. Wash the tray with mild unscented soap whenever you empty it completely.
What litter is best for kittens?
Many owners start kittens on a soft, unscented, non-clumping or paper litter, because young kittens sometimes taste their litter. Use what the breeder or rescue used at first, in a low-sided tray, and change gradually if you want to switch.
