The Trixie Slow Feed ceramic bowl is perfect for cats that tend to eat quickly, gobbling up food as they go. The special design with smooth, rounded nubs allows you to distribute the food in the bowl so that your velvet paw can only eat it in smaller portions. This can prevent flatulence and indigestion that can be caused by eating too quickly. The bowl can be used for both wet and dry food. It is also very easy to clean, as it can easily be washed in the dishwasher. Good to know
- Wash food bowls after every meal and refill water bowls with fresh water at least daily.
- Replace fountain filters on the maker’s schedule and take the pump apart to clean it regularly.
- Flat-faced breeds eat more easily from a shallow, tilted dish made for short-nosed cats.
Common questions
Why won’t my cat drink water from its bowl?
Common reasons are water placed right next to the food, a bowl that is too narrow or deep, stale water or a strong-smelling cleaning product. Try a wide bowl in a different room or a fountain. If your cat suddenly drinks much more or much less than usual, see your vet.
Do cats drink more from a water fountain?
Many cats are drawn to moving water and drink more readily from a fountain, but not all of them. It is worth trying for cats that drink little or eat mainly dry food. Keep a normal water bowl down too until you know your cat uses the fountain.
