Cats are freedom-loving creatures, and this PetSafe® Staywell® Classic Cat Flap offers your cat the perfect opportunity to make its own decisions about its time outside. The manual 4-way locking allows you to control whether your cat can roam both in and out, or whether it is only able to travel in one direction. If your cat needs to be kept indoors for any reason, such as an upcoming veterinary visit, you can also shut the PetSafe® Staywell® Classic Cat Flap completely. Magnetic closures on the swing door help to protect against draughts. Good to know
- For a microchip flap, find your cat’s chip number on its vet records; use an RFID collar tag if the chip is not compatible.
- Wall installations need a tunnel extension to cover the full thickness of the wall.
- Keep spare batteries for a microchip flap and replace them as soon as the low battery warning shows.
Common questions
Will a microchip cat flap keep other cats out?
Yes, that is its main purpose: only registered cats can enter. On most models any cat can still leave, so a visiting cat that slips in behind yours can get out again.
Are cat nets safe for balconies?
A net made for cats, properly fitted and checked regularly, is a widely used way to let indoor cats use a balcony. Choose bite-resistant mesh small enough that a cat cannot get its head through. If you rent, ask your landlord before drilling or fixing anything to the outside of the building.
