Lillebro Fat Balls contain a mix of grain, minerals, oils and fats which help wild birds to build up their energy reserves so that they can stay healthy during the long cold winter. Fat balls are very popular but they are especially vital when the temperature outside falls below zero or if everything is covered in snow. This kind of weather makes it difficult for birds to find food naturally, so it is a good time to put out some fat balls. The wild birds in your garden will appreciate it. Lillebro fat balls are made with care and tested for ragweed seed (ambrosia artemisiifolia). Each fat ball comes either in its own individual net so you can easily hang them in your garden, or without nets. These tasty Lillebro fat balls are now available in a saver pack at a great price

Good to know

  • Never feed avocado, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, onion or salty foods to birds.
  • Buy food made for your bird’s species; canary, budgie and cockatiel mixes differ in seed size and fat content.
  • Blow off or tip out empty husks daily so a bowl that looks full is actually full.

Common questions

Can I feed my budgie canary food?

It will not harm them in the short term, but it is not ideal. Canary mixes are based on different seeds and are formulated for a different bird. Use a budgie mix as the main food and keep other mixes for occasional variety.

How long does bird seed last once opened?

Seed gradually loses nutritional value and can go stale or attract moths, especially if stored warm or damp. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place and aim to use it within a couple of months. Throw it out if it smells musty, looks dusty or shows signs of insects.
