Concept for Life X-Large Adult dry dog food is formulated to suit the specific nutritional needs of adult giant breed adult dogs. The impressive size and weight of X-large breed dogs can cause stress to their musculoskeletal system, so their diet should be rich in nutrients that support healthy joints. If your pet is overweight this will also put further stress on joints and muscles as well as on the heart so your pet needs a food that helps to maintain an ideal weight. Due to their size, giant dog breeds have a higher muscle ratio compared to smaller dogs, and they use more energy since muscles need plenty of energy. These big dogs also tend to show signs of old age more quickly so they also need specific food to meet their various nutritional needs, including an appropriate kibble for their jaws. Concept for Life X-Large Adult provides your very large adult dog with a great-tasting, balanced diet for optimal all-round care. The nutritional composition has been formulated to meet your giant breed dog’s specific requirements and to promote all-round health and well-being. The balanced calorie content in Concept for Life X-Large Adult helps giant breed dogs to maintain their ideal weight. The special Formula X actively supports life-long health and can help to keep your dog in good shape. Concept for Life combines lots of carefully selected fresh meat, a good source of high-quality protein, with other functional ingredients to create a balanced mix of premium nutrients. The resulting kibble is easy to digest and well accepted. The special vitamin-B-complex works in combination with copper, organically-bound zinc, as well as high-quality omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, to help to promote glossy fur and supple skin. The Stay-Clean™ complex with highly soluble vitamin C reduces the formation of bacterial plaque and dental tartar. Good to know
- Keep kibble in its original bag inside an airtight bin, so you still have the batch number and best before date if there is a recall.
- Compare economy packs by price per kilo, but only buy a size your dog will finish while the opened bag still smells fresh.
- Feeding guides assume a dog at a healthy weight. If your dog is carrying extra weight, ask your vet how much to feed.
Common questions
How long does an opened bag of dry dog food last?
Once opened, kibble slowly loses freshness as the fats react with air. Keep the bag rolled tightly in an airtight container, away from heat and damp, and follow any guidance on the pack. If the food smells stale or rancid, or your dog suddenly loses interest, replace it.
Is grain-free dry food better for my dog?
Not automatically. Most dogs digest cooked grains well, and food allergies are more often linked to animal proteins than to grain. Grain-free recipes can suit some dogs, but if you are choosing one without a medical reason, discuss it with your vet.
