Concept for Life Medium Senior provides your senior dog with optimal all round care. As your dog gets older, you will notice that they become a little calmer, their metabolism begins to slow down and their daily energy requirement decreases. You may find that your dog loses muscle mass while gaining fatty tissue because they are not moving around so much. As your dog is eating less food, this can cause dry skin and dull fur due to vitamin and nutrient deficiencies. The adapted energy content in Concept for Life Medium Senior helps your senior medium breed dog to age gracefully. Good to know
- Keep kibble in its original bag inside an airtight bin, so you still have the batch number and best before date if there is a recall.
- Compare economy packs by price per kilo, but only buy a size your dog will finish while the opened bag still smells fresh.
- Feeding guides assume a dog at a healthy weight. If your dog is carrying extra weight, ask your vet how much to feed.
Common questions
How long does an opened bag of dry dog food last?
Once opened, kibble slowly loses freshness as the fats react with air. Keep the bag rolled tightly in an airtight container, away from heat and damp, and follow any guidance on the pack. If the food smells stale or rancid, or your dog suddenly loses interest, replace it.
Is grain-free dry food better for my dog?
Not automatically. Most dogs digest cooked grains well, and food allergies are more often linked to animal proteins than to grain. Grain-free recipes can suit some dogs, but if you are choosing one without a medical reason, discuss it with your vet.
