beaphar FIPROtec® Flea Tick Spot-On for Cats is an affordable treatment for fleas and ticks. The formula kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours. It contains fipronil which affects the nervous system of fleas, causing hyperactivity. As a result, it is possible to see “more” fleas following the treatment before it takes the full effect. Easy to apply formula with veterinary strength, yet without the need for a prescription. Simply part your cat’s fur between the shoulder blades and place the tip of the pipette onto the skin. Apply half the pipette between the shoulder blades and apply half at the base of the neck, directly onto the skin. Do not allow children to play with your pet until the fur is fully dry. Suitable for cats and kittens from 8 weeks of age and weighing more than 1kg. Treat all pets in the household every month for optimum flea and tick protection. Good to know
- Write down or set a reminder for the next dose, as most spot-ons and tablets work for a fixed period.
- Remove ticks with a tick hook, twisting gently; never squeeze, burn or cover them in oil.
- Check the legal category and the ‘Vm’ number on the pack to know you are buying an authorised medicine.
Common questions
Does my indoor cat need flea treatment?
Indoor cats can still get fleas, brought in on people, other pets or visitors’ clothing. Whether to treat routinely or only when fleas are found is worth discussing with your vet, especially if you also have a dog that goes outside.
Why does my cat still have fleas after treatment?
Most of a flea infestation lives in the home as eggs, larvae and pupae, and new fleas keep hatching for weeks. Treated cats kill them, so seeing some is normal at first. Keep treating all pets on schedule, vacuum often and use a household spray if needed; if fleas persist, ask your vet.
