Royal Canin dry dog food is based on a concept which provides the ideal nutritional solution for your pet’s specific needs. When dogs are neutered their metabolism changes and they frequently eat more than they need, even though they have reduced energy needs. Such dogs need a food which suits their changed metabolism and also contains all the nutrients and vitamins they need to stay healthy. Many neutered dogs have a tendency to obesity which can affect their general well-being. Royal Canin Medium Adult Sterilised can help your dog maintain a healthy weight. It has increased protein levels and a low fat content. It also contains L-carnitine which can help to improve the fat burning process and support a healthy diet. Royal Canin Medium Adult Sterilised is made to a special recipe which helps your dog to feel full for longer, so it does not get hungry between meals. Royal Canin Medium Adult Sterilised was specially developed for neutered, medium breed (11-25 kg) dogs. It is suitable for dogs over 12 months. Good to know
- Every few weeks, feel your dog’s ribs and look for a waist from above, then adjust portions in small steps.
- Switch foods gradually over 7 to 10 days, mixing a little more of the new food into the old each day.
- Weigh daily portions on kitchen scales. A scoop or measuring cup can be well off, and small errors add up over months.
Common questions
Is dry or wet food better for dogs?
Neither is better in itself: both can be complete and balanced. Dry food is cheaper per day, keeps longer once opened and is easy to use in puzzle toys. Wet food contains much more moisture and tends to appeal more to fussy or older dogs. Many owners feed a mix, reducing each portion so the total stays right.
How long does an opened bag of dry dog food last?
Once opened, kibble slowly loses freshness as the fats react with air. Keep the bag rolled tightly in an airtight container, away from heat and damp, and follow any guidance on the pack. If the food smells stale or rancid, or your dog suddenly loses interest, replace it.
