In the wild cats eat a diet which is rich in protein and very low in carbohydrates. Feringa has used this as the basis for a species-appropriate, natural dry cat food. The innovative cold-pressing process is very gentle so the raw ingredients are not processed with high temperatures or steam. They are only heated to a maximum 50°C, which helps to retain most of the vital nutrients. This tasty kibble with 75% chicken is well accepted. It is refined with a dash of hemp oil which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids and beneficial for healthy skin and glossy fur. Chicory and psyllium aid the digestive process. Feringa cold-pressed dry food is completely free from all grain, soya and lactose and does not contain any artificial preservatives or colours. The gentle processing and careful selection of ingredients preserves the natural nutrients and delicious taste. The 75% chicken content ensures this top quality complete food will delight even the pickiest of cats with its homemade quality. Good to know
- Weigh the daily ration on kitchen scales: dry food is energy-dense and a heaped scoop can be far more than the guideline.
- Store kibble in its original bag inside an airtight container, so you keep the batch number and best-before date.
- Keep fresh water within reach at all times, as dry food contains only about 10 per cent moisture.
Common questions
How long does dry cat food last once opened?
It stays safe until the best-before date if stored well, but the fats slowly oxidise and the smell fades once the bag is open, so fussy cats may lose interest. Buy a bag size you will finish within a few weeks, keep it rolled tight in an airtight container, and check the pack for the maker’s advice.
Is grain-free dry food better for cats?
Not necessarily. Grain-free foods replace cereals with other starches such as potato or peas, so they are not automatically lower in carbohydrate. They can help the small number of cats with a diagnosed grain intolerance; for other cats, the overall recipe and the right portion size matter more.
